Too hot!

Whew! The weather has turned hot these past couple of days. I'm one hot doggie. In more ways than one. Firstly the temp here has been in the high 20's (C) and I've been panting away trying to cool down, but it's all too much so mummy went over to her dad's and borrowed an air cooling thingy. It says Artic 2000 on it and boy does it blow cold. I think it must be as old as mummy and it was very dirty coz grandpa can't see very well to clean. It's very big too and makes a lot of noise. I think Jesse would like it as I heard it's very hot out in California, much hotter than here. Mummy also told me there are forest fires in Colorado so I'm glad he's back home, safe.

Artic 2000

Secondly I've come into my season so mummy has been taking me to the vets, I like my new vet even though he keeps putting needles into me and taking my blood. Don't know what he wants with it, maybe he's a vampire, he looks a little pale. Mummy's hoping to take me to visit Night Night when the "time's right". Mmmm if that's anything like last time I don't think I'm going to enjoy it. It makes me feel really bad, it's not my Jesse :( . Last year I had x-rays to check my hips and elbow to make sure they were all ok, they were very good (4,3 hips:0 elbows) so mummy wants me to have puppies. I think I will be a very good mummy.

I have also received 2 more awards. I need to sort them out and decide who to pass them on to. Thank you  to Raelyn and Rose for the "One lovely blog award" and thanks Jesse (my love) for the "Sunshine award".

Silly me

I forgot, today is Father's Day. Hope you have a great day daddy. I found this card on-line, the picture isn't of me, but I couldn't help thinking you would love it. It can go to your human daddy (Tony) too.

No silly words

Just to let you all know that you no longer have to type those silly words if you want to leave a comment on my blog. I have done this because one of my readers has bad eye sight and finds it very difficult to read the silly words. I find it difficult too but that's coz I can't read. lol  So I hope this makes it easier for you all.

Where's Fizzy? Gone for a wander.

I went with mummy down to the allotment, just to give her some encouragement you know, not to help. Whilst her back was turned I decided to do some exploring and found some bees living in these funny looking boxes.

But when mummy turned round this is all she could see, no Fizz. So she called, and called, but I totally ignored her. She was very cross when I finally decided to come back (don't tell her but I only came back coz the bees were scary).

Mummy is doing her best with the plot but as she has hurt her knees she is finding it very difficult. She needs to finish digging over the end (under the carpet) and get a shed so I will have somewhere to hide when it rains.

Jesse has gone to his ranch in Colorado and taken bunnie with him. Take a look at his blog and see if you can find bunnie along the way. Jesse's blog. Meanwhile I am stuck here in the rain :( in dreary old England. How I would love to be with my American Beau on his road trip.

Gone all day.

Mummy went to work yesterday and was gone all day. Daddy went out too and didn't come home till very late. Nana came down to see me and let me out to go to toilet but she wouldn't give me my pigs ear as she gets frightened that I will choke on it. I never do so she shouldn't be frightened. I had to wait until mummy got home before I could have it, I knew exactly where it was so I showed mummy and made her give it to me. It was very yummy.

Miserable weather

Not happy, it's been raining again. We had thunder and lightning too, that was quite scary. The sun did come out on Monday afternoon so I got to go for a nice walk. Mummy was slow but we did pop into the pet store on the way home and I got a lovely Big Bikit. Yum yum yum!!!!

The Bernese Mountain Dog Song :)

This is a video that a friend shared with me over on facebook.

Lakes

It's been raining on and off all week. I only like getting wet when I'm playing in the river, I don't like the rain. But today there was a break in the clouds, and the sun came out, so we "hot footted it" down to the lakes. I was so excited but I stayed "walking to heal" like I am supposed to, we had to cross a big road which had lots of traffic lights. There I have to sit and wait until the green man flashes, I never saw one but mummy told me when to cross. Mummy lets me off the lead as soon as we get through the gate, then I'm off. There is so much to sniff and lots of birds to chase ( I get told off for that one) but there is a lovely little river to go in and cool off. It's supposed to be a picnic area but it's been left to overgrow and a lot of trees have fallen down this winter.

Mummy took her proper camera, tried to do some of the things Honey The Great Dane's mummy suggested with it, but it didn't really help. She still can't do the "action" shots. However mummy succeeded with Jesse's mummy's suggestion of using the multiple shot on the camera. The memory card filled up really quickly so she deleted the bad shots and carried on. It worked quite well, then she used the computer to crop them. So here is today's most lovely walk.

She even managed to get a short burst of action shots, me jumping into the river.

Whilst we were out there was this flash in the sky, then a sudden bang. Well that was scary and it meant the end of our walk. The black clouds started to roll in and we ran. Still, didn't get home before the rain came. It is pouring down outside now, so I'm going to crawl under the table and go to sleep.

Guestbook

Well I spent all day trying to figure out how to load this Guestbook so you all had better come along and leave me a post, otherwise I will be sad, and Berners are never good when they are sad. You don't have to leave your e-mail or web address if you don't want to but you can make it private so that no-one other than I can see it. You can also leave smilies on it, but if you want to find more than is shown you have to "allow pop-ups" so you had better do that before typing as it wipes it out and you have to type all over again (silly).

So make me a happy pup please and you will get more smiles like this one.

Friends

I'm sorry I have been a bad blogger of late. I have been so busy reading all the posts from the blogs I follow I haven't had time to write on my own.
I love to see where everyone has come from to read my blog. There have been people from Russia and one today from India (I had to look up where Erode was). I think I will make a page where people can sign in and say where they come from, that would be fun. I know where Jesse lives, it's in California so I look out for him, but I don't know all the rest. So I will put my thinking cap on and try to design a visitors book.
It is very interesting to see people from all over the world visiting, it wasn't long ago that the world was so large that we would have had to travel for weeks to see someone who lived on the other side of it, but with the web we can send messages instantly and even skype someone and see them whilst we are talking. It's amazing.

Earth Hour

Jesse's mummy has her own blog at http://kyncora.blogspot.co.uk/ and she is asking every one to participate in Earth Hour on Saturday 31 March at 8.30 pm. All you have to do is turn off your lights for one hour in order to help save the planet. You can do more of course and mummy has pledged to turn off the lights and TV for the hour and Dale is going to turn off his x-box. If we all do a little bit it will, all together, be a big bit. So help save the planet and do something just for one hour to reduce your drain on the Earth's resources.

The link to make your pledge and for any information on the event is http://www.worldwildlife.org/sites/earthhour/faq.html  this will take you directly to the FAQ page and the link for pledges is on the right. I tried to download their banners but it wouldn't work so I had to pinch the one off of Jesse's mummy's blog (I don't think she will mind).

I'm a Pawsome Blogger

Wow, Jesse sent me this Pawsome Blogger award. I'm so happy. If I had known about such things I would have sent one to him first, so I will dream send a bone instead. I know Jesse likes them.

I haven't been up to much this week. The weather has been quite nice so mummy has been planting in the greenhouse. She made a load of origami plant pots, usually she uses toilet roll tubes but she didn't have enough saved up, but a friend on Facebook sent a link to make these pots and she had such fun making them and filling them and she said it was much easier than filling tubes.

This is what they are supposed to look like but mummy found they came out much bigger so she cut the paper in half and they came out smaller. They look really good and means they can be planted out without having to remove pots.
http://www.forgreenies.com/origami-newspaper-seedling-pots#more-646

This is the link for anyone wanting to make them.

I nearly forgot, whilst mummy was in the greenhouse this cat jumped the fence and came into my garden, well I wasn't having any of that and went balistic at it. The only trouble was I smashed up some of mummys pots with plants in and I nearly smashed into the greenhouse and I tore up the plants mummy already had growing in the garden. She wasn't very happy and I got told off.

Did someone say WALKIES!!!!

Yes, I got my long walk in the woods today. I didn't think I was going as mummy reminded me that I had broken the dog guard for the car, then she went out down to the allotment with bags of horse poop. She managed to get a few bags on the way home last night and she left them in the car overnight. She said it really stank in the car by the morning coz it was fresh. He he! I could still smell it by the time I got in. Any ways mummy put me in the back seat and made me lay down in the foot well so we could drive to the woods. When we got there I couldn't wait, I ran off up the path but mummy stopped to talk to some people so I had to stop and tell her to "hurry up". I waited until we were sufficiently far enough from the entrance before "doing my business" so mummy had to carry it with us all the way around. We met lots of other people and their dogs and took lots of photos. We even saw the woodpecker and giant cow again.

Hi

I'm sorry I haven't been blogging lately but mummy keeps using the computer and not letting me on it. She has found a site on Facebook for talking to Berner owners and they have been chatting and joking all day long. She has been so busy she hasn't bothered with me at all (mummy's moaning "that's not true") and she hasn't taken me out for a proper walk for ages, so I'm going to be very good in the hope she takes me back to the woods at the weekend. Mummy has got her new allotment and has been down there most of her days off and it's been raining too and I don't like going out in the rain, it's too much like having a bath. She has got herself a blog for her allotment and writes on that each day she's been down there but as far as I can see she still hasn't got much done, I want her to hurry up so I can go down with her, she won't take me whilst it's still got brambles on it as I get them stuck in my paws and it hurts.

Mummy did teach me a new trick, she puts a treat on my nose and I have to wait, if I don't drop it I can have it. Sorry about the quality but it was taken on mummy's phone.

Hello there Aspen

Aspen has started following my blog. He likes camping, hiking, sightseeing, geocaching and, of course, SNOW!!

This is a photo of Aspen sightseeing in a place called Tettegouche State Park. I don't know where it is but it looks lovely, I bet it's even better in the snow.

So this is a big HELLO from me to Aspen.

Hello everyone

Apparently this week is "International Friendship Week" so I just popped in to say HI to all my International friends as well as my home ones.

Delsin

I have been following Delsin's blog and he was at Westminster Dog Show this week. I thought he would do very well but unfortunately he woz robbed. That judge needs to go to "specsavers". The best in show was a Pekingese so I think that says everything. Here is the link to see him in action, he is number 12.
http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/videos/#/Breed%20Judging/2012/Working/vid:17899603

I also think he should have had bonus points for being the oldest there (9 1/2 years, wow). He definitely looks good for his age. I hope he enjoyed himself despite not winning.

Sunday, 12 February 2012

It was the most BORING day of all.

Well it was show time again today. I didn't do very well at all but mummy didn't tell me off like some of the others do. Don't like it when the other dogs get told off for doing badly, it's not fair. I did meet several new dogs this time as well as all my old friends.

A woman came up to me and asked if I was the Dolyhir dog from the Rock, I was really surprised, she told me that Reuben was her dog. Well I wasn't impressed, I don't like Reuben since he bit my daddy, so I stuck my nose in the air and ignored her.

There were 2 new Tangyachates there, both beautiful. The girl Whisper To Me beat the pants off me, pushed me into 4th and I got nobbled by Night Night's mummy (she rustled her bag and I thought she had treats for me) which meant I only got 2nd (entered 2 catagories). It was so cold there and I was so bored as they did all the boys first so we had to wait until after lunch. Mummy forgot the camera but she did take a photo of me being groomed (posh word for bathed). I also saw my grandad, Dexter, again.
