The Goblin speaks

Hi there, it's me. I've been doing a lot of growing, size wise, but I'm still a pest. I love winding the Princess up and I'm nearly as tall as her now, although I don't quite weigh as much as her coz she's a fatty.

I've had a very runny bottom lately so the Ogre took me to the vets. It turns out I have a campylobacter infection, I think I got it camping, lol. Any way I have some tablets I have to take and hopefully soon I will be all better.

I have been buzy digging holes in the back garden, the ogre isn't happy about that and she keeps filling them in. I have broken 3 paddling pools now, none of the shops have got any so the ogre says I will have to go without, so I have taken to playing with the sprinkler.

Hope you are all enjoying the weather, I'm off to sit infront of the A/C.

Oh dear

After we had such a lovely holiday in our little van, sadly mummy is going to have to sell it. She has nowhere to store it. She was intending to use it as a shed/toilet down the allotment but they have said NO. Well, he said a lot more than that & was very rude to mummy. She even said he was racist, not towards her but he used a racist word against other people, so now she doesn't even want her plot & is looking elsewhere. Well she has always said how badly it is run, it seems this person does nothing down there, the paths are not mowed (some people do their bit but never any further), half the time the water isn't on, there are so many overgrown plots & he does nothing about it.

So the Berner mobile has to go. There are no rules about her parking it outside the house on the road (she checked with the council) so she could leave it there, but it seems silly to keep it when we don't use it much, maybe the once a year for the Treasure Hunt. She spent a lot of money trying to sort it all out so it worked. She's not happy.

We had fun in the Berner Mobile

The day after

The following day we were going to take it easy & have a rest but mummy had other ideas. She had spotted some walks that the nice people who run the campsite had planned out. So after having a little breakfast we all set off up the hill, I was let off lead but the Goblin had to stay on hers as she still won't come back when called. It was rather sunny, although not as hot as the day before, and there wasn't much shade so we took the short walk. Now the wonderful thing about Wales is that wherever you are there are these little springs that just pop up whenever you need a drink. Lovely fresh water, well until the Goblin treads in it & muddys it all up.

The view of the campsite
We had a lovely view of our campsite, our van is down there somewhere. It was very sunny up here and we found plenty of spring water to drink. We took a walk back down the other side & we came to the Lake. This is where we were allowed to go swim. They have canoes here, too, for humans to go out in, but no one was there so we had the lake all to ourselves.
Lovely cool Lake
Alongside the Lake was a lovely meadow full of buttercups, both me & the Goblin enjoyed a good sniff around. We could smell sheep but they were in a field on the other side of the fence & we weren't allowed in there.
Meadow of buttercups
We had another paddle in the Lake before heading back to the van for a bit of a sleep.

The great reunion

Well the next day (Sunday) mummy texted Dolyhir to see what time we needed to get there. We had no internet connection so weren't able to check the website. Any way we had our breakfast & a little walk then we set off.

Breakfast time
Mummy used the sat nav lady again & yet again we ended up somewhere we were not wanting to go. It appeared to be a quarry. Well mummy had a few choice words to say to Mrs Sat Nav. Then she said that she bet any money that we needed to be the other side of the hill. So she told Mrs Sat Nav to take us to Burlingjobb, she remembered the name of the town nearest to where I came from & yes, it was right, mummy spotted the telephone box that she turned at when she came to collect me all those years ago.

We got there and very soon saw other cars coming, yippee. I had made it back to my birth place. I was so looking forward to seeing my real mummy & daddy and all my brothers & sisters.

My family
Then it was time to set off on the Treasure Hunt. We had to follow clues around Dolyhir Land & collect numbers we found. Well it was hard going. It was very hot day & the sun was shinning. There were a few mud patches & we did find little springs dotted here & there. We were both on separate leads at this point so mummy decided to tie us together. The Goblin was being very well behaved & we had lots of fun. She was very good at pulling mummy up the hills and it meant I didn't have to work so hard.

Just the two of us.

When mummy found some shade she let us have a little rest. There was a big mud patch there to sit in too, so that cooled us down a bit.

The Goblin found the best mud

When we had finished with the hunt it was back to Rock HQ & a wonderful BBQ. There were so many of us there it was a bit of a tight squeeze. One of my brothers (I'm not telling who) had a good lick of the pork that was roasting, he said it was the best he had tasted and he was right. I got to eat some along with some of the sausages & buns. The Goblin found a playmate, so that kept her out of my fur.

The Goblin & Alfie
Eventually the day came to an end. The both of us were pooped out, ready for bed. Mummy said we had eaten enough at the BBQ to not need supper, she was right. We had a little sleep outside the van whilst mummy had a glass of wine & tucked into the lovely chocolates she got given for driving the furthest to get there.

The Great Getaway

Well after the man fixed the electrics on the van it was too late to leave on Friday. Mummy also needed to get new tyres so on Saturday morning she started phoning around to try & find some. They all said special order, not till Monday. Oh dear, we were beginning to think we would never get on the road. Then one of them suggested a bigger size that would be ok to use, so off mummy went to get them changed. We both thought she was leaving without us and got very worried, but, eventually she returned. All our stuff then got quickly packed into the van, we got packed into the back of the car and off we went.

The sat nav lady started telling mummy where to go, mummy then told her where to go as she decided she was going to send us across London. Poor mummy had to negotiate traffic & parked cars everywhere. She was not happy. Finally we found the start of the motorway and started moving a lot faster.

Lots of countryside flashed past, then we left the motorway and things slowed down a bit. Up hills, down into valleys, lots of winding roads & plenty of sheep. Eventually we found the caravan site. By this time it was getting dark, the owner wasn't there but he had left his number for mummy to call. He arrived 15 minutes later, with the mains lead he said he would lend us for our stay as we didn't have one. He set us all up & got our power on. He showed us where the water was & the waste disposal.

This is my bed

Mummy then let us into the van & we immediately chose our beds. Mummy put the kettle on & made herself a Malteser drink. Our food bowls & water bowls were filled (we were both very thirsty & hungry by then). Mummy then shoved us both outside so she could make up the bed & when we got back in there was no longer 2 small beds but one BIG bed. We made ourselves comfortable straight away.

BIG bed
After a little while it was lights out and off to sleep. Our first night in a caravan.

Dolyhir Treasure Hunt

We made it. We had an awesome holiday in our little van. It was great meeting my doggie family again, this is the first time I have been to see them in 4 years. The Goblin behaved herself very well. I will update piccies as the week goes on but this is me & the family.

That's me in the centre, right at the front. The Swissy isn't family but she was there with her family for the party. There was lots of great food there, I helped myself to lots.

It's nearly time

We are so hoping to get to go on holiday. The van still has a bit of work to do on it but a man is coming on Friday to fix the electrics, lets hope he can do it otherwise we will not be able to go. Mummy has painted & re-upholstered the seats, it's been painted inside too. Now mummy is making new curtains. She still has to try & figure out how the water works, there doesn't seem to be a pump so she thinks she has to buy an external one.

Bernerfied.
The cooker works but not the fire or fridge. A very nice company made the paw print stickers for us, we wanted tan but that wasn't one of the choices so mummy picked bronze as she thought that would be nearest, she told them this and guess what? they sent tan ones, they made them all special. Mummy's hoping the Goblin will behave on the trip, she has been very naughty & just doesn't learn. She has pulled some fur out on my neck where she keeps biting me, it's very sore but mummy is making it better.

all scabby

I would much rather play tug than the bitey game.

Mum's happy

It's surprised me. She seems very happy with the pair of us today. First off we played "hide & seek", the Goblin hid mummy's slipper, I found it. Then we played "tug of war" together. Mummy's still trying to get the caravan fixed, the man says he can't come till Friday :( lets hope he can fix it so we can get on our way. I don't want to miss the re-union this year.

The Goblin speaks

Smee again, I've been a good girl I have. I've not peed in the house, mommie filled in the holes I dug & I helped with the gardening & housework. She's been busy & I've helped.

The Princess is finally warming to me, she's been giving me kisses & letting me play with her toys.

(message from the Princess)   My kingdom has been overrun by a Goblin, it has come to steal all my riches and harvests, the Ogre is paying a lot of attention to her & ignoring my pleas of help. I have been de-throned. However the Ogre has rescued bunnie from the Goblin's clutches and he is safe for now.

She is the biggest pest of all

Well, what can I say. The Goblin is a big pest, I can't go to the toilet in peace, I can't bark at the foxes without her going nuts & when Nana comes down to give me my pigs ear she wants it. It's been endless, the ear biting, hanging from my collar, chewing my fur and hanging on my tail. She's dug holes in the garden, mummy's not pleased, and stolen all my toys. Then she goes and does something nice & cute, how can I stay mad at her then.

Mummy has bought a caravan, she's using it down the allotment as a shed but we are going on holiday in it, if she can get the electrics sorted. I'm looking forward to it as I will be seeing mummy, daddy & my siblings. Mummy got into trouble putting the caravan there, but she told them it was for a shed & that there was nowhere to go potty there, so the caravan will have a porta potty in it. She's still waiting for them to say it's all ok, they have said it's ok so long as no one complains. Mummy is trying to do it up, she says it's gonna be "bernified". I think that means its going to be for us.

The caravan
This is how it looks at the moment. She doesn't know how much she will be able to do over the next few weeks, our holiday is getting very close. She needs to get the lights working properly & get some gas for it. She also needs a battery. It's really tiny isn't it, I hope we all fit in.

The Lakes

I love going to the Lakes, I think I would love to go to the seaside too. I went last year, it was too cold to go in the sea & doggies weren't allowed to go on the beach where we were so this year I'm going to have to get mummy to find somewhere that we can go.

As for today, mummy took me & the Goblin down to the Lakes. She was going to video us but it turns out she forgot to charge the phone & the battery ran out. But we had a great time, the Goblin loved it, I waded in right up to my shoulders, that's the deepest I've ever gone, but I was enjoying myself so much. The Goblin loved it, she was off & swimming, yes you read it right, she was SWIMMING. She couldn't touch the bottom & just kept on going. We were so tired on the way back, thank goodness mummy had taken us by car. We got that totally soaked.

Home now, both of us have slept, the Goblin is still asleep so it is lovely & quiet now, mummy says I was snoring. So here's some photos of the 2 of us at home.

Us together "sharing" the settee

The Goblin all dirty & wet

Me dirty & wet & very happy

Another post from the Goblin

Went for a walk with my big sis today. I was scared by all the cars but the Princess stood between me & them so I was safe. We walked up to the vets, got weighed, The Princess was 44kg, what a fatty. The vet said she was beautiful and that I was a live wire. We got our worming tablets but no treats. Then we had a quick walk over to the park. Wow, what a wonderful place. I was getting tired & thirsty so mummy turned us around to come home. The Princess was not happy with that. We started back home but there were lots of cars and I was very worried so she took us round the quiet road to get back. By this time I needed to go potty, so I went. Mummy got a bag out of a pot, she said they had come from America & it was very special & I must NOT chew it. She bent down to pick it up & I thought it would be great fun to jump on her back, only mummy fell forward. She was NOT happy, in fact I didn't understand the words that came out of her mouth but The Princess turned away & pretended she wasn't with us. I wish I had got a photo of mummy landing in my poop, it was funny.

I've lost 2 teeth so far, my big ones are coming through, that's the only reason I keep chewing things, it hurts.

Sometimes life is just poopy

If you have a heart that can break, don't read this post.

Over the last few days we have heard of the most horrible, heartbreaking news. Some of you in the USA may have already heard. Two wonderful, amazing, lovable doggies were shot by a thing I can only call pure EVIL. I can't call him a man coz that would mean he is human and we all know humans are supposed to have humanity, something HE doesn't have. I won't give you all the details but he first claimed the dogs were worrying his sheep, then retracted it coz they didn't. He shot them when they came to say "hello" to him. What a bugger (sorry about my language there). Any ways the police have charged him, he's not supposed to have sheep as it's residential area and he certainly isn't allowed to fire a shotgun either.

What I want to ask you all is to sign a petition to change the law so he can't do it again.

Wooferific holiday.

Hi all, sorry I've not been around lately but mummy took me on a really wooferific holiday. Have you ever been on a virtual holiday? It's not as fun as really going but there is a very big world out there (apparently) that can be condensed down onto a 15inch screen.

The World

So first off we went to see where JesseJ lived, a very beautiful house in USA. Mummy took me for a walk around Yorba park, a place where Jesse loved to chase bunnies and squirrels.

Yorba Regional Park
After that we took a look around the canyon, another favourite place of Jesse's, and I can see why. What a wonderful long walk you can have there although it would be best in the mornings as I think California is hot during the day.

Weir Canyon
Now I remember Jesse going on holiday and having a great time at Big Bear Lake, so that's where we headed next. Jesse loved to go in the water but after his miss-hap at Yorba he would never go further in than his little toes could feel. I don't mind wading but I can't swim either. I wish I could have gone with him, I wouldn't have been scared with a big brave knight like Jesse to keep me safe.

Big Bear Lake
Jesse like to go Geodoggin' and often headed to Deer Canyon to find geocaches. Now this is a game I've never played, I'm not very good at finding things at all, but Jesse was. He would find them long before M and would point to tell her, sometimes she still wouldn't see it so he would have to insist she look again.

Deer Canyon
Finally we went to see where Jesse found the rattlesnake that scared M. Cleveland National Park and Lake Elsinore. Wow, what a massive place, can you see from the map? It's Humongous. I would not like to get lost there, mummy gets lost a lot on our walks, thank goodness Joyden's Wood is small. Can you see the big blue sea on the left, that's the Pacific Ocean, google maps is great, you can see the bottom and the hills that are under the water, we also took a look to the right and found a big desert (must spell that right otherwise we had a dessert, yummy) it must be hot in USA.

Rattlesnake country.

After all that my feet were beginning to ache. mummy didn't know where the ranch in Colorado was so we couldn't pop over there and take a look but I know that was Jesse's favourite place of all. M is going to take his ashes there so he can chase the bunnies and look after all the animals that live there forever. Jesse is my love and my hero and will always live on in my heart. Sweet dreams my wonderful JesseJ.

Torrie's home, Torrie's home!!!!

Thank goodness, Torrie has been found. He's home safe & sound. He was found a couple of hours ago by the side of the road in the ditch, he was dirty, cold & very wet but ok. Luckily he didn't run from the lady that found him, he was too tired & cold.

His mummy was there within minutes of the call. This is how happy he was to find her.

I promise to never run away again mummy.

I am such a good girl!

Look, look, I learned a new trick. Mummy is so pleased I finally got it. Please excuse her high pitch screaming at the end, she was so excited.

I got so many bikits whilst learning this trick, I really didn't want to get it right, but mummy is still giving me bikits whenever I get it right and lots of cuddles & fusses too.
