Just having a SPA day

Today the KiT and I took a walk through a part of my Queendom. We took the carriage to the Heath.
It's been very hot this last month & today was no different, although not sunny.

The lack of rain has made the grass very dry, this puts the Heath at risk of fires.

All very dry & brown. The trees are in fruit but we didn't see many blackberries, there hasn't been enough rain for them to get big enough.

Making sure I keep up with the KiT

Check everywhere, there is always some pee-mail somewhere

Just a little rest

The KiT loves to climb

Another little rest, next to some heather

This time the KiT had a rest

We decided to visit Katherine the Mermaid but she was gone, her lake all dried up with just a little bit of mud left. KiT had a good check.

Need to roll the mud in a bit.
We then headed back home & both of us had to take a nice long bath to get the mud out. We now smell & feel so nice.

Still wandering

Sorry, we've been AWOL for a while. The camera had stopped working & we needed to buy a new lead for it.

We have been out for many walks, mostly local. We have not been able to walk around our Lakes, there has been a big calamity there, there is some blue/green algae found in the water & some dogs have died from drinking the water.

So we took off for a day around my Queendom.

We checked all the pee-mail

Sat for the Ogre to take a few nice pictures

Spoilt a few

Spoilt a few more

Visited our Unicorn friends, this tree is the marker to their kingdom, you can just make out the image of a Unicorn near the top of the trunk.

everything is very green at the moment, we have had some rain.

the K.i.T had a rest half way around

we took the long way around

the K.i.T found some rainbows to dance with.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend & get many walks,

On the hunt for FURiends

Well Thursday we had some lovely sunshine for a while. We took ourselves off to the Heath for a walk.

We were on the hunt for a new FURiend called Crystal. We have been informed by Coco that she walks there often. We need to find Crystal as she knows where there is a lovely kingdom full of Bernese.

Hello there, we are looking for Crystal, have you seen her?

So far we haven't seen Crystal, nor could we find Coco. The sun was shining nicely at this point but as it was already late in the afternoon it was beginning to get very low on the horizon which means it kept shining in our eyes.
We met a couple of other dogs who knew Crystal but they hadn't seen her on their walk today. They said the would tell her that we were looking for her the next time they saw her.

as we couldn't find her we decided to go & see Katherine the Mermaid

She was very happy that her lake was filled very high, we had been very worried during the summer that it was too low.

We refreshed ourselves whilst we were there

Then of course our Ogre made us sit for photos

We met some more little dogs but they hadn't seen Crystal either

A final photo before returning to the chariot & then back to our Palace.

May be we will find Crystal another day.

We are also looking for snow, they both seem to be rather elusive.

Sandy Paws

Well on Sunday we travelled much further afield, to the land of sand and water.
We were both well behaved in the chariot despite the long journey, the Ogre had cleared out the back & folded the seats back giving us loads of space. She put lots of blankets & towels in the back so it was all snuggly and warm.

At first we had no idea where we were going, the Ogre was telling us it was to a place called Camber Sands and as it would be a long trip we should take a nap.

We could smell salt & water well before we pulled into the car park. I remembered the smell from once before when we had gone to a beach.

This time as we got out of the chariot we found we were not the only Royals. There were so many of us. A big meet of all the Royal families. It was cold & raining but we had such a great time.

There were many other BMD's there, this is just a small group with their Ogres

There were hills of sand to climb, would have preferred snow but this was fun

The weather was both good and bad, it started to hail at one point but we didn't mind as we had our fur coats on.

The KiT had a paddle in the sea, she wanted to know if there were any fishes that wanted to play

I'm the Queen of the Sand Dunes, well I think the KiT loved climbing them too
We both had a bath the weekend before, we managed to get sand everywhere but the Ogre left us to dry before brushing it out so we didn't need to have another one.

We were both tired out after our fun so laid down to sleep on the way back. A few minutes into our drive we had to stop to let a train pass

We are still hoping for snow

New Year is on it's way.

2015 hasn't been great for us, we are hoping 2016 will be better.

A stroll through my Queendom

Today was a lovely day. We took a stroll through my Queendom.

Checking out the pee-mail.

The K.I.T decided the grass looked greener on the other side of the fence, but no pooping allowed.

The K.I.T found herself a nice mud bath.

Which she then washed off in the pond. The sign says no swimming, very deep. Hmmm, it wasn't very deep as we didn't swim, we waded.

The Ogre got a nice picture of the 2 of us together, unfortunately it isn't in focus.

This one was a little bit better. The light was very dim just here as we were under the trees.

There was much more light here, so we had a quick stop so the Ogre could take a few more pictures.

We saw a tree with some holes in. The Ogre told us they were made by woodpeckers, a bird that uses its beak to peck holes in dead trees, they then eat grubs they find there.

Another nice picture. We were walking ahead whilst the Ogre took some pictures of the leaves changing colour, all very boring. Except it does mean that winter will not be far behind. I'm hopeful that all the creatures that live in my Queendom have harvested enough food to last them through, it may be a long one.

The Ogre was able to get this nice picture of us near the old hermit's cottage. We aren't allowed to go there, it's not in my Queendom, so we just took a quick peek to check all was ok with him.

Well I do think the Ogre did a good job with the pictures today. We also met some other dogs that came from a country called "Down Under". We weren't too sure where that was but they were very well behaved when we first met them, a quick sniff, their ogre had them stay with her & not let them come and play but we carried on walking for a bit. We then suddenly heard them running behind us, turned to greet them & they stole our dried kidney. Well luckily our Ogre had plenty of supplies with her, we didn't really mind, it's nice to be able to share our bounty.

Well I have been really bad with blogging this last couple of months. There really hasn't been much going on to be honest.

Last week we did go for a lovely long walk through the forest again. This time there were a few differences.

We  came to the Troll Bridge, it had been set on fire some time since our last visit. I know Trolls aren't liked much but this is just horrible. We tried hard to find the baby troll that had been orphaned many months ago but there was no sign of him at all. We are very sad, he has either been scared away or worse.

We met another Ogre and walked & talked for a while. She told us there had been more trouble in the forest. A rare gall wasp had been discovered & all the chestnut trees had been destroyed. Many cut down to try and stop the spread of the wasp, other totally destroyed by the wasps themselves. We decided we needed to check this out when we got to the scout camp.

We came across the fields first. This field had been full of wheat not long ago. Now it had been harvested.

There were no drinking holes around but we did manage to find this small mud patch. The KIT had a good wallow to cool herself off.

I thought better of it and decided to set out to find something a bit more substantial.

Then I too had a good wallow.

We were walking around the forest at this point, rather than through it. We saw fields of vegetables that we often see the ogre grow at home.

We finally came to the scout camp where we could see the trees that had been destroyed by the gall wasp.

This was the part that had been cut down in an attempt to stop the spread of the wasp. Hopefully they could not fly far enough to cross to the other side.

We also found a sleeping dragon, we did not want to wake it.

The KIT was beginning to dry out by now. She blended into the ground very nicely.

Finally we had made it all the way around the forest and back to parts we knew.

The ogre spotted some holes in the hillside. She would not let us take a close look incase it was a badger set. Apparently they do not like to be disturbed during daylight.

All in all it was an enjoyable walk, although rather sad news about the Trolls.

Later that day the ogre decided it was time for us to have a bath. The mud had left our fur very soft, I highly recommend a mud bath followed by a water bath to make you feel so fresh and soft.
