Happy birthday

It's my birthday again. 5 years old.
Happy birthday to all my brothers & sisters, the first Dolyhir's.

I got to go to the pet store & got lots of pressies, fusses & bikits. Mummy also bought me a lovely chunk of oxtail which I enjoyed all to myself whilst she took the Goblin out for a walk. She has been taking us out separately for walks lately, I'm much happier to have some ME time & as mummy has given up smoking she needs something to do to get off all the weight she's putting on eating too much to compensate. Although the Goblin says that I also need the extra exercise as I too have become a fatty.

Mummy has been spending lots of time at Grumpy's flat, he has had to move into a nursing home as he can no longer look after himself. He's not very happy about it, but mummy has been helping Nana clear everything out. There is so much they have had to throw, there are also lots of things that they need to sell, it seems Grumpy bought lots of things he never used.

Mummy says we stink, so it was bath time today. Now we smell all nice (we will rectify that as soon as we get out into the garden).

We had a run of good & bad luck

Well I suppose that's normal, you can't always have it good although sometimes it does feel like it's all bad. It seems that most of it has been balanced with the numbers although the bad always feels worse, especially at this time of the year.

We can't wait for better weather, we don't mind if it's snow or sun but we've all had enough of this rain. It is getting everybody down & a lot of people have lost their homes. So whatever bad is happening to us we know there are people worse off.

We are not rich, in fact we are very poor money wise, mummy often goes without food so we can eat, but mummy says wealth is not measured by money but love. She would much rather have us then all the money in the world. So when everything seemed to be going wrong & she couldn't pay all the bills, the cooker stopped working, she needed new glasses & of course the car needs taxing, she was pretty down. But as I have already said there have been ups as well as downs, she had some good news. First of all a good friend sent mummy a present, all the way from USA, so she put the money towards a new cooker (we are still waiting for it to be connected, but that in itself is a long story) then we heard the Goblin had won a competition of having her pawtrait painted & it arrived from Canada & to top it all off I also won a competition & won a voucher.

 Mummy had to buy a new camera (the Goblin ate the old one) but it didn't have a charger or lead so she had to order one from e-bay. It took so long to get here & she had to complain, but we eventually got it. So now we can have our pictures taken again, that's if mummy can figure out how it all works.

Now all mummy wants is to be able to get into the garden & get planting, she's always happier then (even if she has to chase the Goblin around the garden to get her gloves/pots/tools etc back).

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's day & we have no dates, mummy is giving us plenty of cuddles but it's not quite the same. We were also hoping to get some Valentine bikits but mummy's cooker has packed up so she has bought a new one & we have to wait for it to be fitted, we are hoping it will be done on Monday.

We are still waiting for the lead we bought on e-bay for our camera, mommy has had to complain and now we are still waiting to hear from the company we bought it from, they have until Tuesday to sort it out otherwise e-bay will have to refund the money. Which of course is no good as we actually need the lead. So still no new pictures, although there hasn't been any opportunity to take any as it has been raining pretty much non-stop. The garden is soaked & it's like a mire out there, the Goblin enjoys this weather but I do not. A Princess must look her best at all times & I can't do that with frizzy fur & muddy paws.

Oh dear, well I will have to look forward to better weather as I don't think we are going to get any lovely snow. I am not feeling very happy so I think I will have a sleep & dream of my lost Love, JesseJ.

Loosing time & a lot of other things

Well the Goblin has been hogging the computer & I haven't been on for a while. Just spent time catching up with reading all my favourite Blogs.

We still have no photos to upload, the Goblin ate the camera last year & although mummy has been using her phone the pictures are just dire. So she managed to buy one second hand but it didn't have a charger, so she's had to order one on-line. Well that was nearly 2 weeks ago & we are still waiting for it to arrive. She has contacted the company & is waiting for them to reply. I am not very happy & neither is she.

Then we've had all the wind & rain. Mummy has fixed the greenhouse (the roof blew off) but the garden is still very wet & we have more rain forecast. I would much rather we had snow.

Grandad has been very ill, the carers have been really lax in giving him his medication as a result he's back in the hospital.

But we have had a lot of good news too. Both the Goblin & myself won competitions, she got a beautiful pawtrait & I'm waiting on my vouchers.

Mummy has the week off work but she's already spent most of it running around for everyone else rather than take it easy, she also has several projects on the go for friends which is taking her forever to finish.

Happy birthday Grandad

It's our Grandad's birthday today, he is 80 years old. I really can't imagine how old that really is but he does look very old. He's still in the hospital & we still can't go and see him (no non PAT dogs allowed). So it means the party that was planned can't go ahead, it was lucky they put it off before Christmas. He has been in hospital for ages now. I do hope he gets better soon. Mummy says he probably won't be coming home even if he gets better, he really needs to be in a nursing home.

Grandad has had a very fulfilling life, I love to hear his stories of being shipwrecked, destroying harbours, travelling across Africa, dining with an Emperor & the Queen. He seems to have done it all.

The weather has been horribly wet & windy over the last month that we just haven't wanted to go out much at all. We do have our lovely raincoats to protect us but I still don't like the weather. I can't wait for the snow to come, snow is so much better then mud. Although we found plenty of mud today & took great delight in getting as much of it over ourselves as possible.

We had a walk over at Joydens Wood, this is one of my favourite places & it was the first time the Goblin, sorry I mean the other Princess, has been. Well she behaved like her usual self although she didn't stray far from me or mummy. This is the first time also he has been allowed properly off leash, normally mummy has to put it on several times during a walk as she keeps running off. I think it helped not knowing where she was. We met lots of other dogs too.

Mummy says sorry about the pictures being a bit fuzzy, she doesn't have a pocket camera anymore (Goblin ate it) so she has to use the camera on her phone & it's not very good at all. She needs a new one but can't afford it at the moment.

 Now, I've been having problems with pics since Blogger was bought out by Google. Now I can't add a slideshow by Picasa Albums. This is very annoying so I say thank you to Windows Live Movie Maker (a programme which I know exactly how to use). So I have put all the pictures from our walk into a movie instead of a slideshow but it works out similar.

We had a long rest after coming home. Mainly coz we were all wet & dirty so it was a sleep in the kitchen. Then we came to check out our friends on-line only to find out poor Honey Big dog had passed over the Rainbow Bridge, sweet dreams big girl. I'm sure there will be many friends to meet you at the bridge.

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to pop in & wish all those that celebrate Christmas a very happy one this year.
As some of you may realise we don't celebrate it here as we are not Christians but that doesn't stop us wishing you a very Merry Christmas.

It's been very topsy turvy this past week, we have had really bad weather. It's rained & the wind has been at about 80 miles an hour. As a result the greenhouse lost it's roof & everything got soaked in there, mummy spent 2 hours replacing it, in the rain to stop it getting worse. Then the shed also took a hammering & our freezer stopped working coz it also got wet, she's hoping it will work once it's dried out. The garden is like a bog, it's so saturated with water & of course the Goblin, I mean Princess, has enjoyed tearing around in it & then bringing the mud back indoors. She has also taken to sneaking her stocking out into the garden, it has amazed mummy that she knows which one is hers (she leaves mine alone). Our Palace was turned upside down & next door but 2's marquee ended up in our garden.

On the plus side we have had lots of lovely food to eat & lots of pressies. We have also had a lovely real fire to snuggle up in front of.

It's the Winter Solstice today, happy Yuletide everyone. Today we feast and open lots of pressies. We know we have lots as our stockings are very fat. It's a shame we do not have snow, that would have been better than the horrible rain we have.

A post from the Goblin

Well I was my first burfday yesterday but mommie was at work so I didn't get my pawty until today. It was a pawsome day. First off we got to go for a walk & then onto the "all you can eat buffet" & have lots of fusses from our wonderful Amy (Kim has left).

Then we came home & a wonderful surprise pawty awaited me. There was pawsome cake with liver, yoghurt & choc drops, we both had pawty hats & balloons. Our palace was all decorated, it was fit for a Princess (or two). And the bestest bit of all, big sis said i was finally a Princess myself, I jumped around with joy.

I've been very bad at blogging lately, I'm sorry. Mummy hasn't been very well, she's had a bad cold & has coughed so much she's hurt her ribs. But she's getting better now. So things are looking a bit brighter here.

We got a present too. Mummy found a Palace for us on Freecycle. It's a bit old & faded so she is going to paint it for us in the spring. We will also get a bed in there so I can rest & get away from the pesty Goblin.

It's raining

It may be raining outside but we are all comfy & snuggled up inside. Ding dong, no it's not the Avon lady it's the postman with a box. I wonder what it could be.

We have raincoats made especially for us by a friend who lives in Colorado (we have 2 friends out there now). I have a red one & the Goblin has a pink one. Unfortunately it seems I now have to go for a walk in the rain.

The Goblin loves hers, she loves pink and she loves walking in the rain. She is now an honorary Princess of Berntoak (she will become a real one when she learns not to dig holes anymore). She does look very Regal, all she needs now is a tiara .

How quickly time passes

One whole year. It really doesn't seem that long. It still feels like only yesterday. But it's not. It's been a whole year. My heart is still raw, part of it is missing. How do I explain to the Goblin.
One whole year since JesseJ passed over the Rainbow Bridge.
So today I light a candle, I hope he will visit me in my dreams.

We have his mummy & daddy, Margeaux & Steve, in our hearts too. I have arranged a little pressie for Margeaux with which to remember him by. I hope she likes it, I know she will.

It's spring!!

Well it might not be spring but something has sprung. First off the Goblin came into heat, now I have. Well at least I know what I'm supposed to do.

All I need to do is try and figure out why mummy is laughing so much.

Fire!!!!

First off I want to say, to all my friends that live in California and Colorado, that I hope you are all alright. I hear there are fires out there, please keep the animals safe too. Blessings to the wonderful Firefighters who have been battling to put them out.

Meanwhile here, it's been wet all week, but the sun came back out for yesterday and is set to stay until about Thursday. So today we went for a walk, it was a bit hot. It all started very nicely, then the Goblin decided to be stupid. I shouted at her to stop but she wouldn't listen. She ended up heading towards the street, mummy chased her but she thought that was fun. Luckily for her mummy can run faster.

We then went on to the pet store, or as we like to call it "the all you can eat buffet". We got bikits & lots of fusses. My two favourite girls were there too, Kim & Amy. They always give the best fusses & lots of bikits. Mum wanted a Halti to stop the Goblin pulling but they didn't have one, so mummy had to take her to another pet store. The Goblin isn't happy with it but mummy is (me too, I had a good laugh).

The Goblin loves to chew everything. Every time you turn round she's off with something into the garden, usually it mum's shoes even daddy's wallet. Well this time it was the 3rd jug. How guilty does she look, still doesn't stop her though
